Niagara-on-the-Lake | White Oaks Review
Heading to the Niagara region anytime soon? My recent visit to the Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls was so special - we hope you enjoy this review video as we share our recommendations of where to stay, the top things to do and where to eat if you are lucky enough to get away for 2 days and 1 night!
ACCOMMODATION
As for accommodation, White Oaks Resort and Spa was simply excellent - from the impeccable service, to the room size and cleanliness, to the concierge putting cold water bottles in our car when the valet brought it around... we could not say more positive things about this hotel! WINE TOURS
We also went on a organized winery tour and visited three different wineries in the region including Hare, Pondview and Between the Lines. The wines were excellent - and for any wine lover this experience is a real treat as each winery was so different and unique with small town charm and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE
As for the main road in Niagara on the Lake - Queen street - the charm and vibe of this special high street is truly remarkable. The countless ice-cream, fudge, and chocolate stores will leave you salivating. While the quaint tea shops, souvenir stores and other retailers really make browsing and shopping a pleasure. The vibe in the summer is also palpable as the flowers and tress are in full bloom and the dogs and horse carriages are out in abundance!
FOOD
Dinner at the award-winning Treadwell never ceases to amaze us. Their flexibility to accommodate any and every dietary requirement, while still maintaining the most delicious standard of food left us feeling full and most satisfied! Day 2 started with a delicious breakfast at White Oaks' well-known restaurant Liv.
NIAGARA FALLS
After check out, we headed to do what every tourist does in the area - and that's see Niagara Falls! Since my sister had never seen the falls we decided to do the maid of the mist boat tour right into the falls - and we have to say , it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity! It took 60 mins from start to finish - the lines moved seamlessly and the experience is one to remember. I will for sure be bringing my kids back to do the Hornblower boat tour in the near future!
So there you have it - a whirlwind 24 hours of wine, sun, waterfalls, great food, relaxation and more. If you have ANY QUESTIONS about this video, feel free to drop them in the comments below!
